Why choose Mayfield Seaford?
Welcome to Mayfield Early Education Seaford, a boutique childcare centre where relationships, respect, and a love of learning come together to create something truly special.
Located in the heart of Seaford, our centre is more than just a place for care - it’s a nurturing community where children aged six weeks to six years are seen as capable, curious learners with voices that matter. We believe in co-constructing learning experiences with children, allowing their interests and ideas to shape our curriculum.
Our philosophy is grounded in the belief that the environment is the “third teacher.” Our thoughtfully designed indoor and outdoor spaces inspire exploration, creativity, and connection. From natural light-filled rooms to shaded outdoor play areas, every element is intentionally curated to support discovery and growth. Safety and well-being are at the heart of everything we do. Our qualified educators build strong, trusting relationships with families and children, creating a secure and inclusive atmosphere where every child feels seen and supported. We offer nutritious meals prepared by our in-house chef, and our team is trained in allergy awareness and anaphylaxis management.
At Mayfield Seaford, we offer a funded kindergarten program which is delivered by a Bachelor trained ECT that supports both 3- and 4-year-olds with 15 hours of learning each week. Our play-based approach is enriched with intentional teaching experiences—from literacy and numeracy to water safety and school readiness—ensuring children are prepared for their next big step. We invite you to visit and see why so many families call Mayfield Seaford their “home away from home.”

In our nursery classroom, we strive to support children in their learning environments to meet their milestones while building meaningful relationships with their educators and peers. Our nursery room follows individual routines and allows all children to eat nutritious meals, rest, and engage in meaningful relationships throughout the day.
Our junior kinder room supports children in hands-on learning experiences and starts the foundation of learning to equip each child to become kindergarten-ready. Providing hands-on activities, encouraging independent exploration, and promoting social skills through group play enhances children's interests and learning and assists in providing the skills the children need to begin the school readiness program.
Our kinder classroom is set up for school-age children to reach their full potential using high-quality resources whilst following a curriculum based on the children's voices and interests. We strongly believe implementing an effective school readiness educational program assists our children in a smooth, successful transition into school whilst having the tools they require to be confident and involved learners.
Our dedicated Sensory and Art Room is designed to spark creativity, imagination, and exploration. With a range of sensory and artistic materials, children are encouraged to express themselves, build confidence, and develop important skills through open-ended play and creative discovery.
All inclusions are subject to availability and are provided at the discretion of the centre director.

We provide stay and play orientation sessions before your child’s first day. Scheduled close to your child’s start date, these sessions offer you, your child, and our educators a chance to connect, ask questions, and discuss any essential details. Once enrolment is confirmed, you’ll be invited to these complimentary one-hour sessions. We offer up to two stay and play sessions prior to the commencement of care. Talking about the upcoming experience at home can also build excitement and help your child look forward to the fun activities they’ll soon be part of.
We supply most of the essentials your child will need throughout the day. Please pack and label a set of spare clothes, a water bottle, any comfort items or dummies, and, if applicable, a sleeping bag, milk bottles, formula, or breast milk.

Keep a positive attitude! Make drop-off a pleasant experience by taking a few minutes to help your child feel settled. While mornings are busy, finding an activity they enjoy and giving a warm goodbye can help set the tone for a smoother day. A friendly, caring educator will always be on hand to offer support, and you’re welcome to call the centre anytime after leaving to check in for an update.
The educator-to-child ratio varies. For children 0 to 24 months, the ratio is 1:4 in all states and territories, 1:4 in VIC for children 24 to 36 months, and 1:11 for children 36 months and over. You can find out more about it on the ACECQA website.
Selecting the right centre is key to feeling assured and at ease, knowing your child is safe, happy, and nurtured during the day. Look for a centre that offers a positive learning environment where dedicated educators provide guidance and model behaviours that encourage independence, confidence, and essential life skills. It’s also wise to consider practical factors that suit your family’s needs, like location, fees, and included services.

Eligibility for the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) in Victoria depends on various factors, such as family income, the child’s age, the type of childcare service chosen, and the level of parental activity, including work, study, or volunteering. Australian citizens and permanent residents can apply, although certain conditions may differ based on individual circumstances.
The CCS covers 100 hours per fortnight, depending on the combined hours of recognised activities (like work or study) by parents or guardians. The subsidy hours increase with more activity hours.
Mayfield Seaford is a great modern long daycare centre, friendly staff, clean facilities, great meal choices caters to many requirements, my daughter has enjoyed her time here and there has been no issues. She will miss all her friends and the wonderful educators as she starts school.

Very friendly staff who make you feel at ease leaving your kids here. They engage the kids with meaningful activities and update you daily with what your child has done that particular day. What I love the most is, no matter who is on the early shift, all the staff are aware of your child and what he/she likes or doesn’t like, it makes early drop offs very easy when all staff are aware and familiar with your child’s needs. Keep up the great work :)

My 18mo daughter has been as Mayfield for 4 weeks now and absolutely adores her educators, big hugs for them when she arrives and lots of smiles, the place spaces are clean and lots to do! I’ve found communication very easy and emails are responded to promptly. Out of three kids, this is my first child in care and I’ve found it such an easy transition.
