We also have the wonderful Sandra and Stef assisting in the the room throughout the week. Our aim is nurture and develop your little ones, making them ready for moving forward in life.

    Aspen Room

    18 Months - 2 Years

Our Aspen room is packed with activities and adventures. The room has 12 children and they are always found around the sandpit or engaging with the music or puzzles and home corner. We use this as a space that is not based on age but on their stage of development. We see that development is not linear and every child has their own rate and stage. Watch this group grow together, sometimes disagree and learn how to master new skills. A very special space indeed!

Sunset room is the final stage for the children at Cheltenham before they head off to big school. To ensure they are ready, we have our fully qualified kindergarten teacher Julie running the room. We have a veggie patch, rock climbing wall, day bed, and timber sessions. We also have a community courtyard that the children can access and explore. We also encourage them to access our Indigenous library at the front of the service.

Carefully created spaces, both indoors and outdoors.

    Frequently Asked Questions

We provide most of the essentials that may be needed throughout the day. We ask that you pack and label; spare clothes, water bottle, comfort items/dummies. And if your child requires a sleeping bag, milk bottles, formula, or breast milk.

We offer orientation sessions for families to come along before the first day to have a short play with us. These sessions are usually close to the first day and act as a good lead in. It gives you, your child, and the educators time to get to know each other and the opportunity to ask any questions or provide important information. These sessions are usually organized once enrolment is confirmed, they last for 2 hours and are free of charge. Talking about it at home is also a great way to get your child excited for all the amazing experiences they will get to be a part of.

Be positive! Make the drop off a happy experience and take a few minutes to help your child to settle in. The mornings can be busy, but taking some time to find an activity your child enjoys and saying goodbye can help for a smoother start to their day. There will always be a warm and caring educator on hand to help. You are always welcome to give the centre a call after you have left for an update.

The educator to child ratio varies depending on state and territory, we meet or exceed this ratio. 0 to 24 months the ratio is 1:4 in all states and territories. 24 to 36 months the ratio is 1:5 in QLD and SA, and 1:4 in VIC. Over 36 months the ratio is 1:11 in QLD, SA and VIC. You can find out more on the ACECQA website.

It is important to take the time to find a centre where you feel confident and comfortable and know your child will be safe, happy, and protected. Find a centre that provides a learning environment where careful guidance and role modelling by educators can help children become competent, independent and develop valuable life skills. It is also important to consider aspects that will impact your family such as location, cost, and inclusions.

All Mayfield Early Education centres aim to meet or exceed the National Quality Standards and Regulatory requirements of an early childhood service. The staff are all so amazing at Mayfield Cheltenham. We really feel like they are part of our extended family. The care, love & support they show for our kids, as well as the parents is so appreciated. The parents wishes are always taken into consideration & wherever possible, each individual child's routine is followed. The facilities are great to support the comfort of the kids who attend. We love being part of this centre's community.

I cannot recommend this daycare enough. My little girl has been going here for almost two years now and absolutely loves it. The staff are amazing and super friendly and make you feel at ease when leaving your children there. Thank you Cheltenham for giving my little girl the best two years so far.

Absolutely cannot recommend the educators enough. My daughter has being going here for almost a year and LOVES it. A variety of activities every day, food is also varied and plenty of it! They’ve just refreshed all the facilities which is fab. Prices went up accordingly but still a highly competitive rate.
